Thump keg ideas

Postby cornwhiskey » Tue Mar 04, 2014 4:43 am

Right now I have a liebig condenser but want to switch to using a thump keg with a coil. Is a thump keg that is made out of glass jar (like pickles come in) a bad idea? Like in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2QGaGGR5Zk) go to the 40 second spot of the video to see it. The one concern I have is what the lid is made out of and if there is a possible heat issue with the glass.

You can do it but personally, I just don't like it.

A small keg can easily be converted into an excellent thumper.

You can use your liebig condenser with the thumper.
I would also stay away from glass.

Don't know if it will help you, heres some pics of what I did.
You can use either keg as a boiler for different configurations.
