My new pot still

Postby alanmies » Sun Oct 18, 2015 8:14 am

This is my air cooled still with two thumpers.
Upper "column" worm is 10mm copper tube, length 3 meters and dia. 180mm.
Condenser is 10mm copper tube, length 12 meters and worm dia. is 180 mm because it's easy to wound.
Free convection, no fan.
Two glass thumpers 2 liters each.
From start until the end steady 70-75%
Thumpers were loaded in the first run with 3 dl sugar mash and second run with 3 dl 20% diluted moonshine.
Pot volume is 7 liters.
Sorry about Finnish language.

Interesting rig, good output for passive air cooling with finless tubing. What is your product volume/hour?
Oh, welcome! Thanks for your post!

I just noticed you have been a member here for many years, thank you for your post non the less. Very interesting! Much higher output than I knew to be possible with a spiral burner.
