FWD: Yummyrum's Better Dilution, Better Cuts

Postby Tdick » Sun Feb 11, 2018 4:20 pm

I plead guilt to being a little lazy on this one.
I was reading SuzikiDave's thread about his cut procedures on his rum.
Not Dave's fault at all, it just kind of went over my head

I looked to see if this thread by Yummyrum on CopperCustom had been shared here, but I confess to not looking very hard.
This was the most help to me , I guess because of the photos. So I wanted to share:

Edit: I think I fixed it. Just in case, here is the direct link:

Last time I used a variation on this method.
I took 40 ml of a sample and then added enough water to make the new volume equal to the %ABV of the sample.
For example: 40 ml @ 87 % = 87 (40 + 47) ml @ 40 %.
Or: 40 ml @ 50 % = 50 (= 40 + 10) ml @ 40 %

Of course I took not 40 ml but 4. And the same goes for any other measuring, say the inner volume of a piece of pipe.
