Makers Mark 46

Postby hard times » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:42 pm

A vid on how they age and make 46.
Most interesting about the half way mark when they tell
of using different toasts of french oak sticks after barrel aging to
produce the different taste profile.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good
as they're going to feel all day.

Good fortune takes preparation.

It is a interesting exercise to compare the differences in oak aging equipment & techniques between medium sized wine and most whiskey makers.
At the risk of being branded a heretic I have been happy with the results of fooling around glass carboy aging with French oak.
Stay hungry, stay foolish.
