Great music: bands and musicians from the old 60's and 70's

Please be kind to others. Personal preference just is. There is no right or wrong.

Unfortunately, this band has not aged well. :(
They are still playing almost 50 years later, but for those who were listening to Skydog, THIS is the Allman Brothers:
Someone posted in the comments that just before the picture was taken someone handed Duane a bag of "Vitamat'in C" that he's hiding in his hands.
That's why they are all laughing.

All I am seeing in these posts is a large black square where people are posting video links. What do I have to do to view them?

Cheers.

I am not big into Improvisational Jazz, but I was listening to a song with Michael Brecker on sax and this was "on the side".
Definitely improv, but just amazed at how tight these guys are with this! They're so tight, it reminded me of this girl... :offtopic:

Also this reminded me of some of Emerson,Lake & Palmer from back in the day:

Speaking of ELP, saw them in concert in 1973. 15000 seat Coliseum with HUGE speaker banks in each corner.
The "quadrophonics" show they put on was incredible.
They did this and made the sound "spin" around in circles - plus I WAS drunk!
It's one of my favorites of theirs.

Had not a clue who Aaron Copeland was back then!

I like it, an I'm only a lukewarm Copeland fan, but as long as we're opening boundaries, here's something I love and I can blame it entirely on Punkin.

You can make whisky in a reflux still, you can make vodka in a potstill,
and you can eat chicken noodle soup with a crescent wrench. But...

It started off and I'm thinking "WTF!"

By the end I am :roflmao: !
I love it

Back to 'normalcy", Wet Willie was from Mobile AL, moved to Macon, GA and was a big part of the Southern Rock world.
Just posted this "elsewhere" but had to add it here:

Nice song ZZ

I've been lisbtening to Aretha tonight.
One of my best friends was an Aretha NUT :rkn: from the beginning.
He bought all her albums and when all us 13-14 year old white guys in Alabama were hangin at his house, that and Motown was what we had to listen to.
(But he had a pool table so what you going to do.)

This one is with Duane Allman & King Curtis on sax.
