I'm into Irish folk songs for drinkin' to...Not so good for sailing to thought.
(Never heard an Irish song where they all made it back home safely)

Johny jump up, ramblin' rover, wild rover, well any of the godzillion rover songs, Tim Finnagins wake, whiskey in the jar, etc. Cores after a few we move on the Flour of Scotland

That Damned Band--Whiskey and Beer (for the love of). great as a raucous sing-a-long. should be the first song up on their myspace page....

"THAT Damned Band sounds like a circus train wreck into a hobo camp where some eastern europeans and jews are learning Irish drinking songs from Tom Waits"

I have a couple i like that take care of the theme:

The Reverend Horton Heat - "Liquor, Beer and wine" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0WQyroL-Pw
and
The Murder City Devils - "Rum to whiskey" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsl6YbE_as0

Like both bands a lot but the mood in their music is quite different in expression and lyrics. Actually had the honor of watching Rev Horton in Oslo few years back. Pure satisfaction.
