Music I listen to while running my still

Please be kind to others. Personal preference just is. There is no right or wrong.

Boys I tell ya I'm with all of ya on the music tastes...Country, specially old stuff, Hank Jr., Waylon, Willy, Cash, Jones all of em. Then some times rock most only old classic rock though. It'll all be heard when I'm workin in the wood, or blacksmith shops. When I'm makin liquor it's quiet. I gotta hear the sound the flame's makin to judge the heat, wanna hear the copper chips inside to judge how fast the boil is. Also don't want nobody sneakin up on me cause I can't hear over some loud music.

Ventures (pre 1970), The Mermen, (not just surf, but twang); San Francisco psychedelic: Quicksilver, Hendrix, Dead, Airplane; Kinks (a class by themselves), Taj Mahal - my musical tastes must have atrophied in late 1970. Pirate movie soundtracks. Talking Heads, Blondie, Pretenders ( brief revival of interest in novelty with New Wave.) Some newer stuff: Postal Service, Alpinestars, Magnetic Fields come to mind.

Mostly early Ventures and The Mermen in the shop, though. Really liking The Mermen, lately. Hard to find, but great - particularly the drifty, deep liquid reverb stuff like Sand and Goodbye on their first album, Krill Slippin'.

Interesting selections here. Much of the same for me. This week has been some Steve Earle, Southern Culture, Ryan Bingham, Chris Knight and a little Eat A Peach with my morning smoke (cigarette). I had XM but discontinuted after the merger and got me an Archos. Now I just listen to my 500 albums constantly.

I gotta say I'm with Pint & chefDaniel on this one :8) :8)

If I'm not practicing my banjo ( no, don't look at me like that :P ), then I'm listening to Alison Krauss etc. In fact I'll listen to any free CD's I can blag off the musicians I do business with which would be AKUS, Sam Bush, Mountain Heart, Dan Tyminski etc etc etc. I'm cheep as well as a mooch :D

The misses thinks I'm turning into the quintessential "hillbilly" as she finds me sit running the ol' pot playing the banjo. I tell her I'm after a pair of overalls next &, well, do I REALLY need these shoes..................................

I just got hold of a cd called "the best of Stray Cats" and another featuring Brian Setzer formerly from Stray Cats. Great dancing music if you're into 50's rock 'n' roll.

Liberté, Fraternité, Egalité.

I'm slaving away making the last of the apples into juice and slush and I'm listening to AC/DC. There's gotta be a correlation between fukin with apples and Highway to Hell. In fact I'm sure there is.

Angus's skinny legs do it for me anyhow.

Wish Ms. Ugly would OK an LCD big boy for the shop.

cake, metallica, rammstien, megadeth, jackyl, and pretty much any other 80's hair bands. I crank it as loud as i can and usually it puts me to sleep. i sit in my lazyboy recliner with my temp/alarm in my lap so if it beeps the vibrations of the buzzer catch my attention.
