Music I listen to while running my still

Please be kind to others. Personal preference just is. There is no right or wrong.

I enjoy blues, starting with Robert Johnson and ending with Sting. I have 70-some albums almost all of which now reside in my terabyte hard drive along with bluegrass and classical style jazz. Also drag around a set of wireless battery powered speakers when I don't want to risk damage to the original CDs. Still buyin' more...

If there are any jazz/blues-minded listeners out there, you might want to listen to the KPLU.org stream. Regular jazz during the week and blues on the weekend, NPR during the day. Truly world-class jazz (comes out of Seattle, WA).

Just sayin'...
Age, in and of itself, does not confer wisdom.
Instead, it provides a list of mistakes you hope, profoundly, never to repeat.

How about a big band with an upright bass, fiddle ,resonator guitar ,banjos, clarinets and sax that plays jazz ,swing, blues , ragtime , and rock and roll ?

This is another player similar to pandora , but with a much faster search .

"Breathin" , "Shave em dry" , and "Everybody's fucking but me" are all memorable torch singer classics . That chick has got some pipes on her , yes sir . Plays a hell of a musical saw too . Just leave that channel on all night , there aint no telling what will be next with these cats .

Oh yeah , and throat singing . Why doncha BUY somethin' , ya pirate !? It's funny but it took me a week of listening to Grooveshark to come to the realization that as far as I was concerned DL'ing music was obsolete .

I've been listening to Paramore lately. (Hayley Williams is awesome.) Also snagged Mumford & Sons a couple days ago.

This guy is good, a lot of his stuff is instrumental no singing. He does some hard stuff to. The first is easy listening the second the hard rockers will like, I'm 46 and I showed this guy to my dad and he liked both sides of this guy. The name is Buckethead.

As for music, to each his own. I listen to a range of old and new and must admit to liking stuff my kids have discovered in recent years. Not so big on hip hop, but old school is alright. I like some of the older psychedelic stuff like Hawkwind, but have been listening a lot to Lusine ICL, Monstrance, ambient stuff by Brian Eno and lots of collaborations by folks working with Harold Budd.

Of course, there are tons of other bands I rotate through. Some recent spins:

Bill Nelson
Eyeless in Gaza
Tupelo Chain Sex
Kasabian
Pink Martini
XTC
Rudimentary Peni
Matisyahu
Birthday Party
Beasts of Bourbon
Gogol Bordello
Broken Bells
Mike Marshall
Subhumans
Built to Spill
Split Enz
Arcade Fire
Thin White Rope
Big Sandy and his Fly-Rite Boys
Tom Waits
Widespread Depression Orchestra
Lounge Lizards

From the signature quote at the bottom of my posts (collaboration between Tom Waits and Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse)):
