4 inch copper drain pipe

Many metals are despised with superstition. Let’s talk about the endless possibilities. Documentation and academic journals are welcome. Bashing will not be tolerated.

Just check first if it is copper down pipe from a copper gutter system. This is often just thin copper sheet soldered into tube. Not even lead free. Some of the copper gutter pipe in the uk is not even soldered, it just has a folded seam. Good enough for rain water but not for much else.

If it is genuine copper tube it may well be a good find.
