It's a kinda junk folder is all, where i've moved a stack of shit from mostly commercial threads where it should not be. These guys deserve to have a chance to offer their wares without a bunch of off topic stuff in there.

Well... Most of my favorite old bastards chiming in on this one. Good to see you all kicking it.
Wish there were a couple more but they let success, money, failure and lack of money to get the best of them. Condolences to VB and his partner kenfyoozed. Got more troubles than time to interact with us anymore.
I guess they forgot where the came from. But I am glad to be away from the commercial distilling I am. They are nothing but a bunch of cut throats and pirates. All stay up too late and all they care about is making a dollar off booze. I was glad to get a few of them up and going but Now I am nobody. It is only comforting to know that when one of them in the media swears by their grandfathers recipe, I am Grand Pa.
Distill safe. Make good cuts. Enjoy yourself. Give as much as you take. Have fun doing this incredibly hard work. Be a good example. It's your hobby.

Not sure about the members we've lost and why, but I've got a way to go before I'm too smart to need this forum, or too smug to enjoy it.

What a long, strange trip it's been.... I was thinking back just recently on some that were once regular posters here.

Thanks for the site G'pa...

For me, the trip began with the old Yahoo Distillers and New Distillers lists, which took me from a complete bodger to a halfway decent distiller.

I miss a lot of friends from there, like Trid, Rimfire, Jameson Beam, and most recently Harry, but once in a while one will pop back up again, like Geoff the Baker. I'd be lost without the forums, and especially this one.

Well, as far as distilling goes, I'm just following the ruts I've formed over the years, but Thanks to this site and the folks here, I can drink good clean booze every day of the year.

ou ever go through that box of oak I sent you? Ever find a bad piece? I got a couple out of that batch that made my rum smell like an old book.

I used about a 1/3 of it.. haven't had any bad ones but was kind of selective when using them.and they were generally well charred.. Nowadays though I'm mainly doing neutral and the little whiskey and rum is sitting in barrels. Could you tell beforehand if they were bad or did it take aging time ?

Yes, carefully crafted thread that was not only off topic, but constructed from off topic parts of random on topic threads.

Fuck me, art like that doesn't just happen by itself. No need for the kids to come along and graffiti it.
