Moonshiners Jamboree

Something interesting going on where you live, maybe we would like to know.

Moonshiners Jamboree

Postby mtnwalker » Sun Feb 25, 2007 10:30 pm

Read about this in "More Mountain Spirits", and it sounded interesting. Checked around and is still going strong. Originally, it was a get together of old time moonshiners and some revenoors were invited also. Now, from what I can gather it a pretty good Blue Grass festival with moonshine aspects, displays, and an old timey still in operation.

Its in NE Ga. right at the NC line at Tallulla Falls. A beautiful area, and the gateway into the Smokies. Sept. 22, is usually beautiful weather.

It would be a great time for any interested to get together, meet and share- have a pig roast or cookout and just have fun. I already know 9 home distillers planning to attend and myself as well. Several live just a few miles away. Following is a link.

Really look forward to meeting any of you that can make it.

This sounds like tons of fun. There are quite a few campgrounds in that area too. It is out in the middle of nowhere. I have and aunt that lives over near Blue Ridge,GA. I know the area somewhat. I bet if it worked out schedule wize Deathwish may like to come too.

I would reccomend that you make your campground reservations early. There are loads of fall festivals in the area. Plus the leaves are just starting to turn.
Your results may vary..

Pint,
Hate you won't be able to make it. I haven't heard from Mtnwalker2 in a while...???

The time is getting close...again i ask.... is anyone planning to attend?

It's possible that we may fly into a small resort that is about 60 miles from the Jamboree. www.highvalleyresort.com The owner will let us use his truck so we can drive over to the State park for the festivities.

We are flying (private plane) or driving to High Valley Resort www.highvalleyresort.com in Suches, GA. It's about 50 miles west of Tallulah State Park. If they have any Bunkhouses (single room log cabin) available they are $40 a night. In any case...Kathy and I will be wearing pink shirts :o ...yes...real men can wear pink! ...anyway...that will make us easy to spot. Hope to see someone there

Wish I were closer. I have a Brother in Chattanooga area.... might talk him into riding down to the event. Looks like 3 hrs from him, and good riding to boot.

I live on the other side of the US but made a road trip a couple years ago in the fall this sounds like a reason to explain another. Unfortunately this August my son is getting married so will not make it but will keep it bookmarked for possibly next year.
