Postby vb » Sun Oct 31, 2010 8:41 pm

Heading out to the Island at for Christmas, hoping to arrange a get together for the fella's out that way.
I introduced my stepdad to the craft a couple years ago, so we can host it at his place.
will be arranging pickup of barrels from the group buy for the same time.

hoping to swap some sample and BS.
located in the Cowichan Valley, just so you have some rough idea of area.
See You Next Tuesday.

Sounds like a great get together. Assume there is room to camp in the back or some such after sampling?

How far is it from South Australia to Cowichan Valley?
Could I get there and back again in three days?
That is by vehicle, not aeroplane (can't afford the fare) besides, I don't know if they have an airfield there 'cos i don't know where it is yet.

Would still like to go though.

Cheers.

VB (and anyone else that just happens to be close  )

Give us a trip report afterwards, if you'd be so kind. I love this kind of thing, and maybe someday will be able to participate in one. You'll not be far, but we need to head South to grandkids for Christmas.

You can make whisky in a reflux still, you can make vodka in a potstill,
and you can eat chicken noodle soup with a crescent wrench. But...

Count me in! Lockie scored a new SS keg for me, but he's pulling prawns over the weekend, so I'll go to a local welder to do the mods.

To those who don't know, Cowichan Valley is on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Canada, eh?

More, later. :D

They recon the water gets a bit deep between here and there. :(

barrels are sheduled to arrive on the 8th (tomorrow) and I'm out on the 20th.
so we could chedule it anytime between the 21,22,23 or 27,28. all seem to be midweek dates so what ever evening works best.
I'm hoping that it'll be a sampling and BS session, nobody ought to drink enough they cant drive home, or else bring a dedicated driver.
if you want to bring someone we don't know, thats fine but be sure we can trust them.
