Anyone in western NC willing to teach me some things?

Are you planning a camping trip or cook out others would like to know about?

Anyone in western NC willing to teach me some things?

Postby Sbeghan » Mon Nov 08, 2010 12:55 pm

The GF and I are both from NC and will be heading back for Turkey Day. We could do some traveling that friday and saturday to meet people.

All I have is a pot still and while that works great for making absinthe and gin I've been disappointed so far in my attempts to make anything else with it - I just don't know when to take cuts. If someone wants to show me how to take cuts, etc, that would be great. Or just show me a cool refluxing still like a VM or magic flute (things I want to build someday). The GF is an anthropologist and both of us would love to hear stories.

PM me if you're interested. Thanks!

knoxville is about 2 hours away, so I could probably do that. I'll have to check with the lady first of course.
Come to think of it, I think that you sent me some oak sticks and I still haven't sent you anything in return (mostly because I don't think I made very good cuts). I could bring some of it and you can tell me what I'm doing wrong maybe :)

We could make a spirit run. Also progressives see me as part of the great unwashed so maybe an interview w/ anthropolpgist would be interesting!

I tried my hand at DWWG a while back. I didn't know where to make the tails cut so I kept it but I did chuck as much of the heads as I could. We could run that as a spirit run (its only about 2L). I could also start some all bran wash and strip it before I come. I also have some peach brandy strips. I can bring any of those for you if you'd like.

I met up with Jose and had a great time. He's a very friendly and open guy (maybe a bit too open, I hope he doesn't get in trouble with any authorities). Just wanted to post a little follow up.

We don't remove shit round here, just say it like it is and if you're sorry you said it later...apologise.

You need to stop tipytoeing round. You are part of the community and welcome. Just be y'self and don't worry what other people think. If there's a problem it will be stated clearly, not hinted at  :8)

Glad you're here AZ :)

Did I miss something here? I said that Jose is a great guy and I hope that no one gets him given how open he is about what he does.

True fact: The mods have a "detonate" button. It causes spontaneous human combustion on posters we don't like. You'll know if you dropped the ball.

No I just seen something I didn't much care for, but if you are okay with it I am too. Being that you live in the states it just seemed off to me.
How do you know about skinwalkers?

I am considering writing a movie script for "Ninja's vs. Zombies", the title alone and people would surely watch it. It would have to be the fast moving Zombies whose heads have to be completely severed to kill. Hence, only ninjas could survive the apocalypse of course.

Top idea :8)

I say give the zombies some weapons too. Poor bastards have always had to make do with outstretched fingers  :screwy:

No wonder they're easily decimated by nerds and stooges. Same with mummies, you reckon they'd pick up a stick or a knife if they couldn't find a gun. Thet were human once after all, and should have the instinct to use weapons intact and merged with their new found love of rending. :x
