thermometer mounting using a 1/2"x1/8"x1/2" baseboard tee?

Postby Pennsyltuckie » Sun Feb 24, 2013 3:21 pm

I want to mount a thermometer to this type of fitting (http://www.pexsupply.com/Cello-CPCBT-08 ... e-928000-p). It is a 1/2"x1/8"x1/2" baseboard tee that I can get from my local H0me D$P0t. My original thought was to find a fitting that would screw into the "1/8" part" that would have some sort of grommet to go around a store bought thermometer that I currently have. What I am thinking is to get an actual thermometer gauge that can screw into it, but I am not sure what exact thread type it is, nor do I know of a "cheap" but accurate thermometer that would just screw in there with no hassle. I guess I am asking if anyone knows of a moderately accurate thermometer that will screw into this bad-boy for a cheap price. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Nice idea! That'll be 1/8" NPT I would think. In which case you could fit in one of these: http://thesensorconnection.com/thermoco ... npt-thread

Are you sure you want to use BRASS? I thought brass was a no no for stills.
