Maple Syrup

It's that season. Does anyone make it? We're taking the kids to an open house at a local place. Got me thinking this would be a nice hobby to start next year.

Anybody know what you need to get started?

Trees would be a good place to start.
Then a drill, tap, hammer and bucket.
it only get complicated once you start to automate it.
Boil the tree water down and you are done.

And a bunch of slogging. Takes roughly 40 gals of sap to make a gallon of syrup, bit more, bit less depending on the sugar content of your sap..

That sounds easy enough to screw up.
