Wild Turkey American Honey

Postby alice » Sat Sep 03, 2011 1:34 am

Someone let my Wife Unit taste this stuff, now she (and at least one of my daughters) are hooked on the stuff.

I'm gonna have to start experimenting, but before I do, has anyone else come up with a close clone? It CAN'T be as easy as just adding honey to my favourite tipple...

Is this a proven mix? Because I really want to do this and do it right. American honey and ice is great for sipping

I drank American honey quite often before starting this great hobby. I've tried a few different ways. The closest I came was a white dog UJSSM with a touch of honey. I could never get anything that was oaked to even come close. I came to the conclusion. I don't think it is oaked. I think they just blend honey with their whitedog. Or maybe a blend of oaked and whitedog with honey added. I could be wrong. But truthfully I can't drink it anymore. All I taste in it now is heads with a touch of honey trying to cover them up.

But how did the one you made turn out? Good is good, doesn't have to be exact you know? The recipe with all those spices seems complex. I've never even heard of some of them. Btw, don't google "veronica spice" without safe search on haha

I think I just didn't like the oaked whiskey mixed with honey. It was all good. At least I drank it. But thats the best thing about this hobby. You can play with it till you find something you like. Start out with mixing small amounts till you find something you like. Then expand off of it.

Isn't there some "mandarine" involved as well? Or am I mixing things up with Southern Comfort?

Sorry, my English just seems to be at a point where it does not get any better anymore.

I so want some Orange blossom honey to try out. After hearing everyone saying how good it is. I guess I need to just break down and order some online.
