Finial still

These are boilers with half columns, bubble, sieve or any other plates. These stills may make a particular type of spirits. Please feel free to discuss the benefits and features of these beautiful machines and their inventive builders.

Finial still

Hey all, I've grown bored of building and settled on a finial design after years of building and trying different things. I'm very happy with this. One single bubble cap plate, into a Thumper that holds around 3.7L. Bottle trap design on Thumper works.great.

How do you determine what you set the valve to? Is the whole external valve circuit to prevent an overflow of the thumper cavity/chamber?

Sorry z, I forgot the drain in the diagram!, hopefully this pic will explain better. The valve is for draining the Thumper, plus I can determine thump depth with the valve, something im experimenting more with, more trials to come. Yes, the external plumbing is the thump drain.

Googe, you come up with some pretty remarkable builds - very innovative. It would be interesting to hear about some of your logical thought processes as you develop these designs. That is, do they start as very general ideas and gain detail as you mull them over? This build seems to be more about efficiency of materials and design. Some of your other builds seem to be departures from the accepted paradigm of what we think of as a normal distillation device. Sometimes you make my brain hurt and I approach your build threads with trepidation.
